Frequently Asked Questions:

WHAT IS VOIP?

VoIP: or Voice over Internet Protocol is a technology that allows you to make telephone calls using a broadband internet connection instead of a regular (or analogue) phone line. Some services using VoIP may only allow you to call other people using the same service, but the Vox Voice Solution allows you to call anyone who has a telephone number – including local, long distance, mobile and international numbers. Also, while some services only work over your computer or a special VoIP phone, the Vox Voice Solution allows you to use a traditional phone through an adaptor.

WHAT IS IP TELEPHONY?

IP Telephony: (IP telephony is more than Voice over IP) is the combination of voice, data, video and wireless applications into an integrated enterprise infrastructure.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE AMOUNT I CAN SAVE ON MY TELKOM ACCOUNT?

No, VoxTelecom is able to offer its customers the Voice Solution by installing a Wireless Bridge and carrying the voice (and data) traffic over our own Wireless infrastructure without affecting your current Internet Infrastructure.

I AM CURRENTLY A DATAPRO CLIENT, WILL I NEED TO INSTALL A WIRELESS BRIDGE?

No, Vox can route voice traffic over a customers existing DataPro leased line. However you will possibly have to upgrade the size of your current leased line solution.

WILL WE NOTICE A DIFFERENCE IN CALL QUALITY WHEN COMPARED TO TELKOM?

No, VoxTelecom has a Carrier class VoIP Infrastructure which offers International Toll Quality thus affording our customers excellent call quality. No training is required with the VoxTelecom Voice Solution.

DO I HAVE TO SIGN A CONTRACT?

You have a choice of having the service on a month-to-month basis or signing a two year contract. The savings is considerably smaller month-to-month when compared to a two year contract.

WHAT SHOULD I BE SPENDING WITH TELKOM IN ORDER FOR THE SERVICE TO BE VIABLE?

Vox is offering a range of packages for local, national, mobile and international calls. Usually your total Telkom account should be over R10 000 a month in order for the service to be viable.

HOW DO THE PACKAGES WORK?

The packages work in a similar manner to that of the current cellular packages. The smallest package is called Vox @, the customer does not have to sign a contract and there is not a minimum that the customer needs to spend with Vox on this particular package. The next package offered is the Vox 1000 package; a customer would have to spend over a 1000 minutes with Vox in order for this package to be cost effective. This is a two year contract. The Vox 5000 and the Vox 10 000 are sold to customers with higher call spends and both packages are two year contracts.
